Power Skating Class

Wednesday’s at 6:55-7:55pm
 

NOT A LTS CLASS.
Must know how to skate forward, backwards, crossover, and stop

To be a successful skater is to be a strong skater. 90% of hockey is skating. It is known to be one of the most unnatural movements for our body to execute, so it’s extremely important to practice proper technique and work your basic foundation and fundamentals of Skating. Power skating will build strong skaters with consistency and power. Power skating will also insure safety and reduce risk of possible injuries.

What you will learn:


          
-Proper Body Positions


          -Breaking down Forward Strides,

                     Backward Strides


          -Snaps


          -Edge Control (finding your edges)


          -Inside and outside c-cuts


          -Forward and backward crossovers


          -Stops (different variations)
                                
 Other Areas that will be focused on:


           -Stop starts


           -Tight turns


           -Quick feet


           -Along with many other

Crystal Roe Biography

Hockey
6 years involved in Power Skating for hockey working with one of the top power skating instructors in the West Coast. With 4 years of coaching experience in California with all types and levels of players.
      
Working: Basic Foundation of skating, Power, Edge Control, Balance, Body awareness, Speed, Stamina, Control, Agility etc.

 
2 Years coaching Power Skating here in Arizona, working with All levels from Mites to Juniors. Currently working with our Inside Edge Midget AA team.
 
Other: 7 years of Sports Therapy with a degree and Certification in Sports training and Sports massages and rehabilitation.

 
5 years working at Spectrum Health in San Jose, CA. A Sports Chiropractic Center working with many types of athletes and injuries.
 
Figure Skating
13 years Figure Skating experience with 10 years skating competitively including Intercollegiate Nationals and Worlds as well as many others.
 
11 years experience in coaching in Jumps, Spins, Power, Choreography for all levels of Figure Skating.
